our passion
Although none of our animals are kept for commercial purposes, we are not anti-farming and we gained our animal husbandry knowledge by working on farms all our lives.
We are passionate about animal welfare and intend to donate half the income from this venture to Eyes on Animals, an animal welfare organisation whose mission is to reduce the suffering of farm animals especially during transport and slaughter. Their main office is in the Netherlands but teams are regularly sent out in the field throughout Europe, Turkey and Ghana.
Our second passion is to share the joy and companionship we get from animals with people who perhaps haven’t got that opportunity.
‘Cow cuddling’
We would like to give visitors to us the chance to boost their well being by connecting emotionally with our amazing rescued animals. Apparently, the larger the animal you cuddle the more of the feel good hormone oxytocin you release. This is the reason ‘cow cuddling’ has become so popular.
However, you needn’t be suffering from stress to benefit you can just come and have fun!

Meet the ponies
Meet Taffy and Lucy. Taffy is a grey Welsh Mountain pony now aged approximately 22 yrs old and a much loved member of the family. Lucy is a 24 yr old bay Shetland Pony. She is unusual for us as she is not a rescue. We bought her several years ago with the aim of using her to help us transport water and bedding around the field as she had been broken in to pull a trap.
Meet the pigs
Provided there are no race horses on the near by track we can exercise the pigs. If you feel comfortable you can give them a scratch and tickle their tummies.In hot weather they can be very muddy as they have to have a wallow to keep cool. We can provide you with gloves or you may like to take a mud bath with them which is good for the complexion ( no only joking about that don’t worry ! )
Meet the goats
We have recently bought 2 Golden Guernsey x baby goats to keep our big lad Gizmo company. Gizmo is very shy but the two babies love a cuddle.
Although we have no experience of ‘Yoga with goats’, if you have you could bring your Yoga mat and enjoy some Yoga with our very friendly small goats.’
Meet the cattle
Mo our 16 yr old Shetland cow doesn’t like her head touching due to bad experiences at T.B testing but she does like to have her tail and bum given a good scratch. Our 2 steers, Matthew and Fiver are being trained up to be cuddle Moos and so far are doing a very good job. The cattle may not be lying down on your visit ( as seen on some Cow Cuddling web sites ) as they do what they feel like at the time.
